Een beetje klein is de Cul de Sac voor een band die een Edison in de wacht heeft gesleept voor beste nationale act. Uiteindelijk was de drukte afgelopen Donderdag toch niet zo'n probleem, want hoewel buiten de temperatuur onder de nul lag was het binnen lekker warm. Een tafereel die ongetwijfeld bekend zal zijn voor de Noor Petter Folkedal, beter bekend als Sergeant Petter.
Een beetje ongemakkelijk zal het voor een band toch zijn als je publiek zich op een meter afstand bevindt. Het podium (of liever gezegd, vloer) is niet hoger of lager,

Banjo's en John CaleTweeënzestig jaar is hij inmiddels. Een wonder dat hij er nog staat want Cale was in de jaren zeventig zwaar aan de alcohol en de cocaïne. Die tijd is voorbij en dat hoor je ook aan de muziek die Cale maakt; ingetogen enBanjo's en John Cale
rustig. Op een akoestische gitaar begint Cale samen met een gitarist en een drummer aan een rustig begin, waaronder ook zijn laatste single "Things". Het doet allemaal folky aan, maar dat verandert na een paar nummers als Cale plaats neemt achter zijn keyboard. Dan krijgt de zaal de avant-gardistische kant van de Welshman te zien.
